FLAG Secretariat
Introduction
The Flexible Learning Advisory Group (FLAG) Secretariat is responsible for day-to-day management of the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework), ensuring that all Framework initiatives are coordinated efficiently and that they contribute to the Framework's vision and goals.
The Secretariat is also responsible to FLAG for the implementation of FLAG decisions and annual strategies. Specific Framework
projects, such as evaluations, also fall within our management responsibility.

Julie has worked in various educational settings and in a range of roles, including teaching in TAFE, higher education and schools, managing industry consultancy and workplace training initiatives, as well as statewide roles in professional development research, program and resources development. As Manager, FLAG Secretariat, Julie is responsible for managing executive support to FLAG and program management services for the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework).
Julie is committed to the role that flexible learning can play in enhancing the quality of teaching and learning in vocational education and training.
Julie holds Bachelor degrees in Arts and Education, and Postgraduate Diplomas in Organisational Behaviour and Education.

Our new Senior Communications Officer, FLAG Secretariat, Shaunagh O'Connor, officially started on Wednesday 3rd June, 2009.
With a background in journalism, Shaunagh will be responsible for producing The Loop newsletter for the Australian Flexible Learning Framework, as well as devising up-to-date content for the Flexible Learning website and the FLAG website. As part of the Secretariat team, Shaunagh will also be supporting FLAG and its working groups and looks forward to meeting and working with you all.
Before her cadetship and years with News Limited, Shaunagh gained qualifications in teaching, and currently teaches part-time in Monash University's journalism course.
Marina Toskas - Project Officer
Marina Toskas joined the FLAG Secretariat in early December 2008. As the Project Officer, Marina plays a valuable role in supporting FLAG and the Framework, working closely with Julie and the FLAG Secretariat team. Marina provides administrative support for the FLAG committee and its working groups. As well, Marina is the first point of contact for a range of Framework communication needs. She provides help desk support to users of the Framework's Workspace (Intranet), as well as uploading content and monitoring currency of information on the flexible learning website, the FLAG website and the Workspace.
Previously employed with Tennis Australia, Marina has sound planning, time management and organisational skills and a strong background in information technology, with an Advanced Diploma in IT
