Overview

The Framework conducts leading e-learning benchmarking and research to measure the use, impact and uptake of e-learning throughout Australia, and to inform future directions that support increased uptake and integration of e-learning in vocational education and training (VET).
Research is targeted at a range of market segments in the VET sector. The Framework's managing body, the Flexible Learning Advisory Group (FLAG), uses this research to develop policy and new direction, ensuring e-learning is constantly adapting to the changing needs of teachers and trainers, learners, RTOs, business and industry.
Through research, the Framework also investigates emerging technologies and their application in the VET sector.
Benchmarking and research allows the Framework to keep its finger on the pulse of e-learning in VET, and ensures that our activities and programs are evidence-based.

Publications

The Framework produces a number of research-based resources to assist the VET community to develop tailored e-learning programs. This suite of resources currently includes more than 10 in-depth reports on e-learning, in areas such as supporting national training initiatives, small business and mature aged workers. If you don't have time to read the full reports, the what matters series of pamphlets highlight the key findings from the Framework's major research projects.
The national E-learning Benchmarking Survey provides the most current snapshot of e-learning around the country, with national, state/territory and industry specific analysis.
