Overview

The Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework) is the vocational education and training (VET) sector's national e-learning strategy. It is focused on integrating and embedding e-learning in training and businesses in the (VET) system.

A key part of this goal is to actively communicate the outcomes, achievements and learnings from Framework activities, to further encourage the use and uptake of e-learning amongst registered training organisations (RTOs), teachers, trainers, business, industry and learners.

The Brand Management business activity was established to provide high-quality and cost effective national communication and branding support and management for the Framework, and to ensure that key Framework messages are communicated in a consistent way.

Through a variety of channels, the Framework is able communicate to the VET system that we are:

  • building on the national investment in essential e-learning infrastructure
  • investing strategically in business-training provider partnerships between RTOs and business or industry
  • investing in empowering learners to take control of their own learning.

Framework communication channels

The Framework communicates with people working in the VET system through national communication channels and by developing key strategic resources. This includes:

  • Latest news: contains regular updates on the latest e-learning news and developments from Australia and internationally.
  • Events: lists the key e-learning events occurring in all states and territories and nationally.
  • Flex e-News: the Framework's free monthly e-newsletter which includes features on current e-learning trends, case studies, resources and events.
  • Facebook: friends of the Framework can view videos, photos, notes and links to e-learning updates.
  • 2009 Framework Policy Brochure: provides the blueprint for the Framework in the second year of the 2008-2011 Framework Strategy.
  • 2009 Framework E-learning in Action brochure: demonstrates the depth of e-learning in VET by focusing on innovative e-learning case studies and profiling specific e-learning products, resources and support networks.
  • Event sponsorship: the Framework will sponsor three national events in 2009 to lift the profile of e-learning in training and education. This includes the Big Skills conference, the ACPET national conference and the Innovative Business Award at the Australian Training Awards.

You can also access information about the Framework by visiting your state or territory web page, or a specific business activity web page.
