Project Outline

The Indigenous Engagement Project seeks to develop and strengthen the e-learning opportunities available to Indigenous organisations and communities to increase education and training options. It aims to strengthen the capacity of organisations and communities to recognise and identify skills and qualifications needed to gain successful employment outcomes.

2006 Projects

Four projects have been successful in securing funding and support to develop effective education and training models, incorporating technology, to enhance key skills among Indigenous learners.

A fifth project is being run to build the e-learning knowledge and skills of Indigenous leaders and Elders involved in the 2006 Projects.

2005 Projects

Two training providers received funding to develop education and training models along with resources to embed e-learning within Indigenous communities.

Research

The 2005 Indigenous Engagement Report was commissioned to help inform the development models for the effective delivery of e-learning programs to Indigenous learners. It involved a comprehensive analysis of e-learning activity within Indigenous communities across Australia.
