Regional skills for a changing environment - project summary
This project will have four practical outcomes for our region. These are based on needs for new e-learning techniques, effective communication with disengaged learners, improved formal and informal pathways into vocational education and community concerns about the environment.
We will provide alternative educational processes that stimulate self-inquiry and encourage confidence, opportunity and choice. This will lead to a sustainable system of facilitated interactive communication: one that supports healthy, confident workplaces and lifestyles, with positive democratic principles.
The project has a strong background in the context of our research and our practice throughout the Northern Rivers, and from working collaboratively with other local colleges and our local government. We also acknowledge increasing concern about climate change and its growing effect on people in business, agriculture, tourism, and community relations. There will be practical processes attracting diverse groups and individuals in our communities, particularly for those who are currently disadvantaged, disempowered, or despairing.
